Trading Competition — Rules & FAQ

Here is the full list of rules and a FAQ for the trading competition starting June 19th 2024.

General

• This is a derivatives trading competition organized by the Deri team that takes place on Deri’s platform.
• The competition will start on June 19th at 14:00 UTC and will end on July 17th at 14:00 UTC.
• To compete, you simply need to trade on Deri’s platform at deri.io and try to achieve the best trading performance possible. We will allocate prizes in different categories, described in the section below.
• Traders can participate in the competition on any blockchain that Deri supports: Arbitrum, Linea, BNB chain, Scroll, Polygon zkEVM, zkSync, and Manta Pacific.
• Leaderboards on Deri’s site will be used to show the rankings of the competition and will be updated hourly. At the end of the competition (July 17th, 14:00 UTC), a final snapshot of the data will be taken and the leaderboards will be “frozen”. The team reserves the right to update the leaderboards after the end of the competition in case there are any data discrepancies. The on-chain data will be used to make sure trades are registered correctly.

Eligibility

• You must deposit margin and create trades with a new address. If you have traded on Deri before, you will NOT be eligible for this competition if you use the same address. You are welcome to use a new address to trade, there is no problem with that.
• Only trades open after the start of the competition (June 19th, 14:00 UTC) will be counted.
• You do NOT need to close trades at the end of the competition. We will count realized AND unrealized P&L.
• To qualify for the prizes, you must BOTH have added at least $100 worth of margin and have traded at least $100 worth of volume.
• Before rewarding the winners, the team will analyze the trading data and reserve the right to disqualify any user that they deem guilty of any type of abuse that goes against the spirit of a fair competition.

Prizes

The prizes are separated into 6 categories:

• Gains Masters: the 5 users with the highest P&L in $ terms at the end of the competition will share $5,000
• ROI Rockstars: the 5 users with the highest P&L in % terms at the end of the competition will share $3,000
• Inno Wizards: the 5 users with the highest P&L in $ terms for symbols in the Inno Zone at the end of the competition will share $3,000
• High Rollers: the 3 users with the highest notional trade volume in $ terms will share $2,000
• Outreach Champions: the 3 users that refer the most traders to the platform will share $1,000
• Commission Kings: the 3 users that earn the most commissions from their referees will share $1,000

The table below details all the prizes:

• Gains Masters winners cannot also win the ROI Rockstars prize. If a Gains Masters winner is also in the top 5 for the ROI Rockstars prize, they will be discounted and the user in the 6th position of the ROI Rockstars rankings will become 5th, etc.
• To be counted as a referral for the Outreach Champions prize, a referee must add at least $50 in margin and trade $50 or more during the competition. Wash trades or other types of abuse will be removed before declaring the winners.
• Prize winners will be announced on all our social media accounts after the end of the competition and after the team has revised the data and excluded participants that weren’t declared eligible. After that, the winners must contact our team through our channels before being allocated the prizes. We will not divulge your personal information or social accounts, you can reach out to us anonymously on Telegram or Discord.
• Once all the prizes have been validated, winners will be able to claim them on a special rewards page built for the event. A confirmation transaction will be needed to receive the rewards.

Misc

• The team reserves the right to edit the competition rules at any point before the end of the competition. Any update to the rules will be announced in the official channels to keep every participant aware.

FAQ

How can I participate in the trading competition?

To be eligible for the competition, you simply need to trade on Deri’s platform from June 19th (after 2 PM UTC) to July 17th (until 2 PM UTC). As long as your margin and trading volume are above $100, you will be eligible.

What symbols should I trade?

You can trade any symbols. You can trade Main Zone assets like BTC and ETH, but also any of the Inno Zone assets available like SOL, BNB, DOGE, etc. The top prizes (Gain Masters) will count all your trades, while to win the Inno Wizards prize, we will only count your Inno Zone trades.

Do I have to trade in Pro or Lite mode?

You can trade in either mode, there is no difference.

What is a P&L? What is a ROI?

P&L is short for “Profit & Loss” and defines the gains (or losses) accumulated throughout all your trades. For example, if you provided $100 in margin and ended up with $150 after a week thanks to your good trades, your P&L will be +$50. If you had losses from your trades and ended up with $70 after a week, your P&L will be -$30.

ROI is short for “Return on Investment” and defines the return accumulated from your trades, compared to the initial investment. Using the same examples, if you provided $100 in margin and ended up with $150, your ROI will be 50%. If you had losses and ended up with $70, your ROI will be -30%. A ROI of 0% means that you had no gains nor losses.

I do not have a lot of money to trade, can I still participate?

Yes, anybody can participate in this competition. In fact, we created a special prize to reward smaller traders: ROI Rockstars. This prize will be distributed to the 5 best traders in percentage terms, meaning that, even with a smaller trade size, if your final ROI is very high you might win. Note that there is still a minimum to be considered eligible for the prizes (Eligibility rules above).

How do I know my ranking?

Before the competition starts we will have a Leaderboards page with all the trading data and rankings. You will be able to see your rank and performance on that page, which will be updated hourly.

When will we get the final results?

The competition will end officially on July 17th, at 2 PM UTC. The team will take some time to revise all the trading data before confirming the winners. This might take a day or two. After that, the final winners will be announced on all our official channels.
